CAMBODIA UPDATE!

November 15th, 2022

This is what I’ve been up to in Siem Reap for the past month!

MINISTRY SCHEDULE!

Our weeks are wild and so packed, in the most beautiful way! Siem Reap is beautiful and the people are kind and charismatic. They overflow with joy and welcome you in with open arms. The food is fabulous and the views are phenomenal.

Most importantly, the Lord’s work is indeed being done. In a country where 2% are Christian, the Khmer believers here are on fire and ready to break through to their people.

The Lord has heavily put it on my heart that we are more-so here to encourage and uplift the believers and missionaries that are here long term and make sure they are not pouring out more than they are being poured into. They are on fire, and it’s beautiful, and also we don’t want them to burn out so we are doing our best to support them in any way while we are here!

This week, our squad broke out into teams all over Cambodia, and my team moved from the AIM base to Victory Church and will be living here for the next month so please be praying for us as we press into this space, each other, and our ministry!

We’ve been discussing the story of Martha and Mary in Luke 10 and I’ve been feeling like I’ve heavily been walking as a Martha, serving to every capacity and missing the opportunity to be sitting at Jesus’ feet, like Mary. So please be praying that I come into alignment and draw into new perspective to be more like Mary in this season and always!

***also, I am still fundraising to be on the field and continue to lead this squad! I’ve got around $5,000 left until I am fully funded and would love your consideration in supporting me!

Thank you for choosing into following along with me! I’m thankful to have you in my corner 🙂

Hi everyone! Wanted to share what’s happening here in Siem Reap where we’ve been living for A MONTH! That’s still so wild to me!

My team, Bethesda, has been partnering with Victory Church (led by Pastor Ralph and his wife, Jane, who are both from the Philippines) and our schedule has looked a little like this…

SUNDAY:

-leave for the village (about an hour away by tuk tuk) at 7am and help with the children’s ministry and lead a bible study for the youth girls there (about 12 of them plus one guy, P) We’ve been teaching the kids the gospel through colors, and plan to give them bracelets before we leave with all the colors we go through each week represented by a bead!

-then we travel back to the city, where the main campus is located and help with children’s ministry and fellowship with the members there! Last Sunday we met 2 German 19 year olds who are here in Siem Ream doing ministry for a year! We’re so excited to get plugged in with them!

MONDAY:

-Sabbath! Since we do ministry on Sunday, Victory Church has their Sabbath on Mondays! So we rest, talk to friends and family, etc!

TUESDAY:

-spend the day at the village we work with on Sunday. So we’ll clean the church there, spend time loving on the kids there, and then we do a bible study with the women there (usually going over the same things we go over with the youth girls on Sundays: currently going over stories about the women in the Bible and how vital and powerful they are!) The older women can’t read and so our translator, Bonet, reads the story and then we go over it after!

WEDNESDAY:

-I’ve got my squad leader days on Wednesdays so I’m not with my team, but they prayer walk and evangelize in the mornings and then teach bible and English at a school here called New Dream, which is completely funded by supporters and is free to the kids in the village to study and learn english! Each of the girls on my team pretty much teach their own class, which is SO COOL! They’re so gifted and the kids love them!

THURSDAY:

-we become professors! On Thursday’s we tuk tuk over to the University of South East Asia and teach an hour and a half class on American Culture and Personality Development. Over 60 students from the ages of 18-22 come and listen to us introduce our perspective on American culture and teach them what we know about personalities and how to get a career! It’s really wild that we actually became professors out of nowhere, it’s kind of awesome!

FRIDAY:

-on Friday mornings we go back to the New Dream school and teach English to 2 classes full of 6-12 year olds! There are ridiculously intelligent and so disciplined. During our second hour there, my class is currently in the process of learning a Christmas dance to perform on December 24th!

SATURDAY:

-adventure day!!! everyone is free to go off and do their own thing (in groups of 3, of course) and explore Siem Reap, sit in their favorite coffee shop, talk to strangers, etc!
