Hey everyone!

Wanted to drop in and give yall a quick update on everything World Race at the moment. So quite a few things have been changed in the last couple of weeks, the main one being a change in our launch date. Obviously everything in life has been somewhat modified because of COVID and with the World Race literally being ministering in different countries, obviously, it’s affected us.

The main change is that now, instead of leaving for the field in September and being gone for 9 months as we had planned, we’ll now be leaving in January and spending September-December in Gainsville, GA for a semester of missional training, leadership development and discipleship at the Adventures In Missions headquarters. The plan is that everything will be back on track to launch overseas In January.

Obviously this contingency plan was shocking to hear about since all of us had signed up for something that was so set in stone and now it was suddenly turned upside down. It was definitely something that I, along with my fellow teammates had to process and make a decision on. We were given the option of sticking with the plan, deferring to next year, deferring to a semesters trip, or dropping out completely. While some of my team chose one of those options, the majority of us chose to go through with the contingency plan and this is why:

We signed up to serve, minister, and share the gospel. Not to travel.

Just because we won’t be spending as long overseas, that doesn’t mean the Lord won’t be working through us in the states. While we’re in Georgia, we’ll be learning more about ourselves and growing a whole lot more in our faith in addition to going out into the community around us and serving those who are close by. When we head into the field, not only are we going to be extra prepared, but we’re going to be closer than ever to our teammate and closer than ever to the Lord.

So what does this mean for fundraising?  While we’ll be gone for a shorter period of time, the amount of $15,800 will remain as our fundraising goal. Not only is the cost of living in America greater than the countries we’re going to, travel plans are not yet subject to changing and therefore transportation, flights, and all that jazz are going to remain the same cost-wise. That being said, I’m still fundraising in order to hit that $15,800 goal which you can help with by donating directly through here or by Venmo, check, etc. Once again, if you aren’t able to assist financially, I’m always asking for prayers in this direction as I navigate through all of this. I will never quit thanking you for the love and support as I embark on this chapter, so thank you, thank you, thank you. Hope everyone’s staying safe and doing well. Love you all!
